Setup
1 Install
Download and install HotPop onto your computer.


2 Enter your E-mail Account Information
The first time HotPop runs, the settings window will appear. Please have the following information ready:
• Account host name, typically pop.somehost.com.
• User name, your E-mail address before the at sign.
• Password.


3 Enter your E-mail Client Information
In the settings window of HotPop under E-mail Client Info, enter your E-mail client information. Examples:
• Select Web Based and enter http://webmail.somehost.com.
• Select PC Based, browse to the location of your E-mail client and enter any needed program arguments in the Prog. Arguments text box.


4 Setup Notification
In the settings window of HotPop under Notification, select the methods you would like to be notified of new E-mail.

Note: To display the quick view dialog indefinitely, enter zero for number of seconds.


5 Save Settings
Once your settings have been entered, click the 'Save' button to save and allow HotPop to check your E-mail account.


Usage
Check For New Messages
To check for new E-mail, simply double click the HotPop envelope found in the system tray. You may also right click on the envelope and select 'Check Now'.


View From, Subject and Date of Messages
To view the From, Subject, and Date of messages on the E-mail server, simply right click on the HotPop envelope in the system tray and select 'Quick View'.

Quick view gives you many options.
• Browse though all the messages by clicking the first '|<<', previous '<<', next '>>', and last '>>|' buttons.
• Close the Quick View dialog at any time by clicking the 'Close' button.
• Dismiss the latest E-mail (HotPop will treat this new mail as already read) by clicking the 'Dismiss' button.
• Delete the currently viewed message by clicking the 'Delete' Button.
• Open your E-mail client application or web site by clicking the 'Open Client' button.
